What an incredible voice! Such range! (I believe she can hit 4 octaves.) Neither Whitney Houston nor Britney Spears nor Christina Aguilera can hold a candle to this lady!! And yet, what wasted talent! Her songs are sappy and inept and for all that range and ability, poorly sung. (Well, not poorly sung, but there seems to be no oomph in some of them.)
BTW, a friend of mine noted that as her singing became progressively worse, she wore less and less clothing! PS. I stand corrected it is five octaves. And Vanessa Williams couldn't hold a candle to Mariah, either. And the singing on her first album was great, but she has gotten progressively worse since.
