Nice review. Although I am a Sixties guy, this record saved me when I was in my teens in the dreaded Eighties. Its classic throwback sound was a sonic revelation in the midst of Duran Duran and Satan metal. I really think that "Hero takes a fall" is the best song because it rocks and has a great Susanna Hoffs vocal delivery. Other great ones are obviously 'James', 'Live' and 'Going down to Liverpool'. This band definetly had its Sixties chops down. Apparently, they used to encore their shows with "Seven and Seven Is" by Love. There is a live EP out there with this on it. Cudos to Vicki and the girls for knowing their shit!

I don't own this record but 'Eternal Flame' is a pretty song. I don't adore like some folks, but hey, is not bad. That's all i'm saying. That, and, umm, The bangles released a new record. Last year. 2003. Bangles.
