George, I have visited your site for a few years now and was happy to see that you reviewed Accept. It also pleased me to see that you have enjoyed their music as much as I have for the past few years!
In your Predator review I noticed that you expressed some concern that Udo's voice might have been letting up with age. I believe that the reason he does not sound as good on Predator is indeed the mix. I have managed to buy his most recent solo albums and he still sounds unbelievable.
I'm not sure how interested you would be in listening to any of Udo's solo material, but to this day he has put out some quality metal that sounds like vintage Accept (at least I think so). I guess the purpose of this email is to recommend to you one of his later albums from 2000 called Holy. The mix on here is much better than Predator and his voice sounds better than ever.

I am not Accept fan by any means (though I like some of their stuff) so I won't comment on them much but I'd like to protest against your "Accept are better than Scorpions" statement. I don't agree with this statement at all. At first, Scorpions are much more diverse than Accept: they had vintage hard rock sound, they had some prog rock influences in their music in the 70s, they had Hendrix-styled solos (in the 70s too), they had even jazzy elements. At second, Scorpions are a serious band while Accept perhaps don't take their music seriously even theirselves. At third, there would be no Accept if there were no Scorpions, and, Scorpions 1974 album Fly To The Rainbow is a ground for any following German hard rock/heavy metal band but the fact is that this Scorpions album is much more consistenent than any album of any other German band. At fourth, you said that "Accept have better melodies and cooler vocals than Scorpions" but Scorpions have obviously better and not to mention more interesting melodies than Accept, and, Klaus Meine has Heaven-like vocals while Udo Dirkschneider has for sure decent but somehow repetitive vocals. At fifth, these two bands are just in different leagues. Can you imagine Accept playing with Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mstislav Rostropovich on the celebration of the decade of The Fall Of Berlin Wall? I can not. But Scorpions did it. They played on this celebration.
I have nothing against Accept and I like some of their stuff and even consider Accept to be one of the best metal bands but Accept can be named a good band while Scorpions are a great band. That''s the difference
[Special author note: funny - most of these things are exactly the reasons why the Scorpions suck! And Accept are so good exactly because they don't take their music seriously. This music shouldn't be taken seriously. If I were to see Accept playing with the Symphony Orchestra (which, technically, would be perfectly possible, given the guitarists' classical influences), I'd probably hang myself.]
