Mafa=Matakam: va [BMaf] 1 , vǝ́ráy (n.) 2 [BMaf]
Notes: Mafa vǝ́ráy `sacrifice' (n.); Note that in GLV and Mafa two forms are presented. It seems that the original semantics was: 'sacrifice', and the root might have had a prefix. The latter coukd explain irregular reflex of an initial labial (v, f instead of b-). We can also postulate one more root with similar semantics, namely *ful (or even *fun-), cp. Masa ful, vul [CLR], Gude vin [CLR]. It can not be excluded that forms like val, va originate from the second root .
