Notes : It is unclear whether the two forms are related or not. Normally, a root like *pinḍ- would be reflected as *piḍ-, not *piṛ-, in the unaccented position; therefore, if we are indeed to regard both forms as related, we would have to postulate a supposed *pinṛ- (?) for the original form; this is, however, hardly confirmed by external data.
