Notes: Although the root is not very widely spread, it seems quite reliable both phonetically and semantically. See Trubetzkoy 1930, 276 (who made a further hypothesis about this root's relationship to *=ōcV 'to mow' q.v. - which can hardly be proved), Abdokov 1983, 105. Georgian parallels suggested by Rogava (1959, 66-69) (Georg. duci, urci 'names of wild plants/herbs') are hardly acceptable.
