Ket: im-da5 "small (to cut small, etc.)"; īm-git1, im-git5 (pl. īm-dǝŋ, im-dǝŋ5) "dwarf"; im-da, (North.) im-śa '(to grow) thickly, densely' ( = 'closely, at small distance')
Kottish: imɨraŋága (М., Сл., Кл.), imiraŋága (Срсл.), imgara (Бол.) 'small'; īmaŋ 'near', (Лоск.) imaŋa id.
Arin: kamara (Лоск.) 'short'
Comments: ССЕ 193. Werner 1, 362-363, 407. Identifying the root with *ʔim 'nut' (as Werner does) is possible, but by no means necessary, and may well be a folk etymology. In particular, the analysis of īm-git 'dwarf' (lit. 'small man') as 'nut-man' appears rather far-fetched.
