Proto-Yenisseian: *tVx-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: storm
Ket: tugil (М., Сл., Срсл., Кл.), túgul-bej (Кл.)
Yug: túgul-d...dɛ 'verwehen' (Werner 2, 284)
Kottish: tī-par 'fog' (см. *pVr); Ass. taj-bej (М., Сл., Кл.,), tai-bii (Срсл.)
Pumpokol: ? čibaj (Сл., Кл.), čiebaj (Срсл.)
Comments: ССЕ 293. The vowel -a- in Assan is not clear. A compound with *bej 'wind' (q.v.) is present in Ket and Assan; a similar compound may be attested in Pumpokol, but deriving Pump. či- from *tVx- is somewhat dubious. Werner 2, 268, 284 (without reconstructions).
