A somewhat dubious etymon: the OT form is quoted from the Uzbek edition of MK, not confirmed by Clauson and Dizin; the sense of the passage is rather obscure; the Yak. form may be secondarily built on the basis of the borrowed barɨj-, boruj- 'be badly visible'. But cf. perhaps Kirgh. (ep.) burqu 'variety'?
