There is considerable confusion of three words in Japanese: a) RJ tùjú, Tokyo tsúyu, Kyoto tsúyú, Kag. tsúyu 'dew'; b) RJ tújù, Tokyo tsúyu, Kyoto tsúyù, Kag. tsuyú 'juice'; Tokyo tsùyu, tsúyu, Kyoto tsúyú, Kag. tsúyu 'early rainy season'. It seems that there had existed several original words but their dialectal reflexes got hopelessly mixed up.
