Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝʔlap- (~-r-)
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: bread crust
Ket: tʌla:3, pl. tʌĺaŋ5
Yug: tʌlap5 / tʌla:p3, pl. tʌlafɨn5
Comments: ССЕ 284. Werner (2, 297) also reconstructs *thǝlap, but identifies the first part of the word with Ket. tъ̄-, Yug. tъ(u)- in *čǝG-tiχ 'snow crust' (q.v.). This would be possible if the second part (-lap) meant "bread" - which is unfortunately not the case: Yug. laʔp means only 'piece', so the compound would have to mean "crust-piece". Additionally, tonal parameters do not match (we have ъ̄ < *-ǝ- in tъ̄-tik, but ʌ with the 5th tone < *-ǝʔ- in *tǝʔlap), which makes Werner's treatment even less probable.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝʔq
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: finger
Ket: tʌʔq, pl. tʌʁɨn6 / tъ̄n; tʌʁɔ́ĺ ( < tʌʁɔ:ĺ3), pl. -ǝŋ5 "finger-ring"; (М., Сл., Срсл.) tö́gon, (Кʌ.) togan, tegon "hand (manus)" ( = "fingers")
Yug: tʌʔx / tʌʔq, pl. tʌxɨn6; tʌxul5 / tʌxouĺ3, pl. tʌxǝlɨŋ5 "finger-ring"
Kottish: thok, *thox(g), g. thogi, thogei, pl. thogan
Pumpokol: tok (Сл., Срсл., Кл.) "fingers"; ton (Сл., Срсл., Кл.) "manus", (Сл.) "brachyum" (plural form = Ket tʌʁɨn)
Comments: ССЕ 283. Ket and Yug reflect also the derivate *tǝʔqVʔVĺ (-GVĺ) 'finger-ring' (according to Werner 2, 300, a compound with *ʔɔʔl 'hull'). Werner 2, 302 *thǝʔq.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝga
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: breast
Ket: tʌga5 / tʌɣa5, pl. tʌɣǝń6 (Bak. also tʌɣa:ń3)
Yug: tʌga5, pl. -n5 / tʌga:n3
Pumpokol: tíke (Сл.) "breast"
Comments: ССЕ 284. Werner 2, 300 *thǝga.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝpalči
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: thimble
Ket: tъ̄ĺt / tʌɣǝĺt6 (кур. tʌɣǝĺtǝ6), pl. tʌɣǝĺtǝŋ5
Yug: tʌfalči6, pl. tʌfaĺčaŋ5
Comments: ССЕ 284. Ket -ɣ- is obviously secondary (perhaps an unprecise recording - however, repeated in Werner 2, 301 as tʌ́ɣɔĺta / tǝ̄ĺt(a)), as seen from the Yug -f-. Werner 2, 301 reconstructs <*thǝqphǝlt'ǝ / *thǝphǝlt'ǝ>, connecting the word with *tǝʔq 'finger', but there is absolutely no trace of any -q- here.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝq-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: clay, mud
Ket: tuɣit ( < *tǝʁ-kit) 'to smear (with clay)'
Yug: tǝx
Kottish: thagar, Ass. tagar 'clay'; thagan, thakan 'sand'
Arin: tanen 'sand' (a plur. form)
Pumpokol: tɨk (Срсл) 'dirt, mud'
Comments: ССЕ 284. Klaproth's Ket tagar is probably a recording of the Kott. form. The Ket form is influenced by tuʔ 'dry clay', but hardly derived from it. Werner 2, 304 *thǝq. The Kott.-Arin word for 'sand' can be hardly separated from this root, despite Werner 2, 314.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝ[x]-oʔl (~-r)
Meaning: box (made of birch bark)
Ket: tʌjɔ́ĺ ( < tʌjɔ:ĺ3), pl. tʌjɔĺǝŋ5
Yug: tʌjɔʔl2 / tʌgɔʔl2, pl. tʌjɔlɨŋ5
Comments: ССЕ 284. Probably a compound, although the components are not quite clear (cf. *t[i]χ- "delved boat"?); for the second part Werner (2, 297) suggests *ʔoʔoL 'container'. Ket > Selk. tojal 'box' (see Helimski КС 247).
Proto-Yenisseian: *tǝ̄k- (~c-,č-)
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: leather boot
Ket: tʌɣ4 (South.), pl. tъ̄kŋ1, North. tʌ:ɣǝ4, pl. tъ̄kŋ1
Comments: Werner 2, 300 <*thǝʔǝgǝ>.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tiʔ
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: string (of net); bow-string; edge
Ket: tiʔ , pl. tīŋ
Yug: tiʔ, pl. tiŋ (Werner 2, 267)
Kottish: the / thi, pl. thikŋ / thekŋ
Comments: ССЕ 285. Werner 2, 267 (the addition of the Yug and Kott. forms allows to reduce the reconstruction to *tiʔ).
Proto-Yenisseian: *tiʔŋ
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: to spin, roll
Ket: tiʔŋ
Yug: tiʔŋ
Comments: ССЕ 285. Werner 2, 267-268 (without reconstruction).
Proto-Yenisseian: *t[i]ʔŋ
Meaning: hoar-frost
Ket: tiʔŋ
Yug: tiʔŋ
Kottish: theäŋ, *theaŋ, pl. theäŋan
Comments: ССЕ 285. Werner 2, 268 <*tiʔŋ>.
Proto-Yenisseian: *t[i]qǝǯ-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: scraper, strickle
Ket: tiʁǝt5 / tīʁǝt1; pl. tīʁǝrǝŋ1 / tiʁǝrǝŋ5 , Bak., Sur. pl. tiʁǝdǝŋ5, Kur. tɨʁɔt5 "струг"
Yug: tɛxǝt́, pl. tɛxǝd́iŋ5; tɨxɔt́5 "струг" (obviously different recordings of the same word)
Comments: ССЕ 285. Werner 2, 265 <*thiʁǝt'> (also says: "ein altes Kompositum", but says nothing about the components).
Proto-Yenisseian: *tiχ
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: snow
Ket: tīk
Yug: tik
Kottish: thīk, g. thīki, pl. thīkan; tik (Бол.); Ass. tik (М., Сл., Срсл., Кл.), tɨg (Срсл.), tɨk (Кл.)
Arin: tē (М., Сл., Кл.); t́e (Срсл.); te-ustna (Лоск.)
Pumpokol: tɨg (Срсл., Кл.)
Comments: ССЕ 285. With Ablaut cf. Ket North. tɔpquĺ5, South. tɔqpuĺ5, Yug tɔxpɨl5 "lump of snow on a tree" (Werner 2, 274 without reconstruction). Werner 2, 269 <*thik>. Cf. also Kott. thantu 'Schneegestöber" < *tiχan- + tu 'smoke': this form confirms the reconstruction of *-χ- (not *-k-) in Inlaut.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tiχid (~-G-,-ʔ-)
Meaning: stern (of a boat)
Ket: ti:t, pl. tīŕeŋ (бак., сур. tīdǝŋ)
Yug: ti:t, pl. tideŋ / ti:deŋ
Comments: ССЕ 285. Werner 2, 268 (without reconstruction). Obviously derived from *tVχV 'boat', but the second component is not clear.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨ
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: down, below
Ket: tɨ̄ 'coming from upstream' ( = 'flowing downwards'; tɨ-ɣa5,6 'downstream'; tɨ̄-ĺ / tɨ:ĺ (Кастр.: tɨgl) 'downstream (n.)'
Yug: tɨ 'coming from upstream'; tɨgéj 'down'; tɨ:r 'низовье (реки)'
Kottish: thīga 'downwards', thegäl, *thigal, thegälčaŋ 'unterhalb belegen'; Ass. t́ugiga (М.), túgiga (Сл., Срсл., Кл.) "low"
Comments: ССЕ 286. Cf. also thV- in Kott. thagin "to come down, lower oneself"; thēginaŋ "to fall, climb down", praet. thēlaginaŋ, imp. thēlin ( = Ket. -tiŋ, Yug -tiŋ 'fall down', see Werner 1, 15). Let us note that both Ket and Kott. reflect the old dative form *tɨ-ka "below, downwards" and the derived stem *tɨGVr1 ~ *tɨʔVr1 'downstream'. Werner 2, 312-313 <*thigǝʎ>.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨʔn
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: kettle
Ket: tɨʔn, pl. tɨ̄neŋ1
Yug: tɨʔn, pl. tɨnɨŋ1
Pumpokol: a-tin (Сл.)
Comments: ССЕ 286. Werner 2, 312 <*tɨʔn>.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨj-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: to grow
Ket: tɨjiŋ5, (Werner 2, 262) -tij
Yug: tɨjiŋ, -tɨj (Werner 2, 262)
Comments: ССЕ 286. Werner 2, 261 <*thij>.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨŋgVr-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: high
Ket: tɨŋǝĺ
Yug: tɨŋgɨl
Pumpokol: tokar-du
Comments: ССЕ 287. Werner 2, 309 <*thɨŋ(g)ǝl>; for a reason unclear to me maintains that the Pumpokol form is not comparable.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨp-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: precipice
Ket: tɨ̄, pl. tɨ̄ŋ
Yug: tɨfǝl, pl. tɨfǝlɨŋ
Comments: ССЕ 286. Werner 2, 306, 312, with some confusion: reconstructs *thɨphǝl on p. 312, but on p. 306 suggests a compound *thɨ + *phǝl, where none of the components is explained. One cannot reconstruct *tɨ on the basis of the Ket form: the latter plainly goes back to *tɨpV-, as shown by Yug.
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨr (~-l)
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: navel
Ket: tɨ̄ĺ, pl. tɨĺǝŋ5
Yug: tɨl, pl. tɨlɨŋ1,5
Comments: ССЕ 286. Werner 2, 313 <*thil>, also comparing Kott. pogal-thīn id. If the Kottish form is related, -thīn must be a reflection of the original plural form. The component pogal- remains unclear (cf. perhaps PY *pɨʔɨĺ 'belly, intestines'?)
Proto-Yenisseian: *tɨt-
Sino-Caucasian etymology: Sino-Caucasian etymology
Meaning: midge (мошка)
Ket: tɨ̄t
Yug: tɨt
Kottish: althītega, *althiteka, pl. althītegan, -kan "ant"
Comments: ССЕ 287. Werner 2, 313 *thɨt.
