Entry: da:pḿsinɨ
Grammar: vr.erg.
Meaning: be stricken, be unpleasantly overwhelmed by a sensation, esp. the cold (dzuʔu ) or too much salt or chilly in food
Nepali: cākhnu
Derivation: [da:pnɨ 'feel, taste']
Comments: as opposed to da:pnɨ vt-2a 'experience, taste', reflexive da:pmsinɨ conveys the idea of an internal, durative or intense sensation, e.g. Dzuʔu da:pmstɨ (Nep. Jāḍo cākhi rahanchu; mero aŋ-mā jāḍo cha; bhitra ajhai jāḍo bhai rahancha) I am cold (persistent internal cold) vs. ANa dzuʔu da:ptǝ I feel the cold, I feel cold; dzuʔu lɨnɨ vi-4 (2g), dzuʔu mɨtnɨ vt-2a (4).
