Recht unsicher.

    Wenn auch altlit. auštis `sich erquicken', ataušimas `Erquickung', lett. ataust `sich erholen, laben', ataũsêt `erquicken, laben' verwandt sind, liegt ihnen die Tiefstufe *aus- des in ai. ávas-, gr. ἐν-ηής vorliegenden es-St. zugrunde. Oder = lit. áušti `kalt werden', áušyti `kühlen'?
